Official Start of Desafío Ruta 40 YPF INFINIA 2024

The fourth round of the World Rally Raid Championship officially gets underway this Saturday, June 1, with the Administrative Checks and scrutineering, the opening of the Bivouac for the public and the last tests before the action officially starts. Complejo Ferial Córdoba and Laguna Azul, in the Municipality of La Calera, will be the epicenters of the activities on the first day of a week that promises many emotions.

Saturday for checks and final tests

Tomorrow Administrative checks and Scrutineering will officially start for Desafío Ruta 40 YPF INFINIA caravan. From very early in the morning, at the Bivouac located in Complejo Ferial Córdoba, the drivers and riders will go through the administrative checks while the teams will finish getting the machines ready before going through scrutineering to be able to start the race.

Almost simultaneously, in the town of La Calera, the protagonists will have the chance to carry out the last tests before the start of the race. In a sector specially prepared for the tests, the fans will be able to enjoy the competitors in action: in the morning, between 8:00hs and 11:00hs, it will be the turn for the motorcycles and quads, while in the afternoon, between 14:00hs and 17:00hs, all the car categories will be able to test.

At the same time, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, fans will also have the chance to visit the bivouac with free admission to enjoy the activities at the Village, and also being able to watch closely the work of the teams.

Adrien Van Beveren: “It is always a great pleasure to be here”
Adrien Van Beveren arrived this Friday in Córdoba to start the 12th edition of Desafío Ruta 40 YPF INFINIA. The French rider was happy to come back to Argentina, since he has strong ties with this land. “I’m very happy and it’s always a great pleasure to be here, to share with the people and have a good time”, he said.
“I’m happy to have another chance. It’s a race I’ve never won. I had several titles in Argentina, but not this one, so we are having that goal in mind, and wishing to give it a lot of gas,” Monster Energy Honda Team rider said regarding Desafío Ruta 40.

Van Beveren also referred to the new geography of Desafío Ruta 40 YPF INFINIA: “Knowing that Pablo Eli (Sporting Director) is the one who draws the Road Books, I don’t expect less navigation. Maybe there will be a bit more of track and riding. A version of the Desafío with less open desert, but more rallying, which is something I also like a lot», and added: “The hard part of the mountain roads is that you never know how much the corner is going to close. You can know a little bit, or more or less, but you can never know the thousand corners we’re going to go through per day. You have to be careful not to go off, not to overdo it, but also with a high pace to achieve a good time,” said the 33-year-old Frenchman, regarding the twisting roads of Córdoba.

Thus, the traditional road of the suspension bridges and lunar landscapes will once again be part of an international competition. The 17km-special prologue, which will take place on Sunday, will of course be open to the public.
