How to enjoy Desafío Ruta 40 YPF
The 13th edition of Desafío Ruta 40 YPF will take place from May 24 to 29 in San Juan-San Rafael-San Juan. As the third round of the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC), the event is set to be a historic edition thanks to its high sporting standard and strong international line-up.
The Argentine public will have the opportunity to once again meet some of the world’s leading rally drivers, such as Sébastien Loeb, Carlos Sainz, Stéphane Peterhansel, Nasser Al-Attiyah, Nani Roma and brothers Luciano and Kevin Benavides, amongst many other stars of the international elite.
Spectator Zones (SZ) will be the only areas designated for safely watching the race. In order to preserve the spirit of the rally raid and keep the race routes under cover, the official locations of the SZs will be announced 72 hours before each stage.
All information will be available via the event’s official social media channels and on the official website: https://desafioruta40.ar/spectator-zones/
As well as following the action on the track, the public will be able to experience the rally raid from the inside by visiting the bivouacs, where teams and riders carry out their daily work after each stage. It will be a unique opportunity to get up close to the competition bikes, quads, cars and UTVs, meet the competitors and enjoy the championship atmosphere with the whole family, with free admission.
In San Juan, the bivouac will be located at the Autódromo San Juan Villicum, a venue that will also host both the start and the finish of the competition, reaffirming its status as one of the iconic locations in the history of Desafío Ruta 40.
Furthermore, in the capital of San Juan, at the Centro Cultural Conte Grand, the starting ramp will take place on Sunday 24 May – from 6pm – with all competitors in the Desafío Ruta 40 YPF passing through.
Meanwhile, San Rafael will mark one of the most eagerly awaited returns of this edition. Ten years after the competition’s last visit to the city in Mendoza, the bivouac will be set up there once again, this time at the Centro de Congresos y Exposiciones de San Rafael, renewing the link between the international rally raid and one of the historic venues for the discipline in Argentina.
