From Desafío Ruta 40 to Dakar

The Desafío Ruta 40 will take place from August 26 to September 1 in La Rioja, Belén (Catamarca) and Salta, marking the return of this famous competition to the world sporting scene as part of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC).

Naturally, the Desafío Ruta 40 will be a great opportunity for the competitors of this discipline to race again in challenging terrains that were part of the history of the Dakar Rally when it was run in the South American continent.

In turn, the DR40 will also represent a great opportunity for a new generation of riders who dream of competing in the Dakar Rally, as the competition will be part of the Road to Dakar Challenge program, both for bikes and for the T4 category.

This interesting program gives drivers competing in the Desafío Ruta 40 the opportunity to win a free registration for the Dakar. To do so, applicants must meet the following requirements:

✓Never have participated in the Dakar in any category.

✓Never have finished in the top 10 of an FIM championship in any discipline and in any age category.

✓Never to have been part of the Elite / Priority list of the FIA and ASO (Motorcycle, cars/SSV or truck).

✓Never have won the Road to Dakar Challenge in the past.

✓Not be part of an official team.
