Road To Dakar Challenge progresses in Catamarca

The 11th edition of Desafío Ruta 40 YPF will be of great attraction for a new generation of riders and drivers who dream of competing in the Dakar Rally as DR40 is part of the Road to Dakar Challenge programme, both for bikes and T4s.

After starting in La Rioja and arriving in Belen in the second stage, Santiago Rostán (Pampa Rental Rally Team) has been leading the bikes category with a total time of 9h.14m.47s (6th in Rally 2 category). His runner-up is José Yampa from Catamarca (MEB Belen Rally) and in third place Brazilian Rodrigo de Abreu Sallum (Med Racing).

In terms of time, the gap is a little over an hour, which means that anything can happen from Belén to the 5th stage which finishes in Salta.

These last UTVs are just over 1h 20m behind.

Desafío Ruta 40 is always full of surprises. From Belén to Salta, there are still 3 stages left where the terrain can be the biggest obstacle for everyone, so anything can happen on the Road to Dakar 2024.
