Daily Media Accreditation is now Open
Desafío Ruta 40, a rally-raid race that will take place from May 24 to 29, covering the route San Juan – San Rafael – San Juan and counting towards the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), has announced the official opening of the Daily Media Accreditation process.
These accreditations are specifically intended for local media outlets interested in covering specific stages of the competition in San Juan or San Rafael. Applications must be submitted online via the race’s official website: https://desafioruta40.ar/accreditation/. The deadline for local media is 20 May.
Thanks to optimized logistics, the 13th edition of Desafío Ruta 40 will cover a total distance of over 2,700 kilometres, of which 1,699 kilometres will consist of special stages. The event will feature two bivouacs, which will act as the heart of the competition, serving as hubs for sporting, technical and logistical activities and bringing together teams, organisers and accredited media.
In San Juan, the bivouac will be located at the Circuito San Juan Villicum. San Juan city that will also host both the start and finish of the competition, reaffirming its role as one of the most iconic locations in the history of Desafío Ruta 40.
One of the major highlights of this year’s event will be the return to the province of Mendoza, with San Rafael as the host city, ten years after the competition’s last visit. There, the bivouac will be located at the Congress and Exhibition Centre.
Furthermore, the accreditation process for permanent press remains open, aimed at media outlets and team press personnel wishing to cover the entire event. In this case, the deadline for submitting applications is 12 May.
Desafío Ruta 40 will feature the presence of prominent international rally figures, including Sébastien Loeb, Yazeed Al Rajhi, Nasser Al Attiyah, Lucas Moraes (reigning W2RC champion), Stéphane Peterhansel, Luciano and Kevin Benavides, Daniel Sanders (current W2RC champion), Nani Roma and Tosha Schareina, amongst many others who will be present in Argentina for the country’s most important international competition in 2026.
