Desafío Ruta 40 will feature Malle Moto category for the first time

Desafío Ruta 40 will include Malle Moto category for the first time, one of the most demanding and authentic rally raid modalities. This format, renowned for its spirit of adventure and autonomy, represents a major step forward for the competition and a unique opportunity for riders seeking to experience rallying in its purest form.

In Malle Moto, riders will compete without external assistance, being responsible for the maintenance and repair of their bikes. This modality will be open to competitors in Moto (Rally 2, Rally 3) and Quads and will be governed by specific sporting regulations. Its incorporation into Desafío Ruta 40 reinforces the event’s commitment to diversity and sporting excellence.

To ensure the necessary conditions, the organisation will provide to riders in this category with repair tools, a sleeping bag, a tent, a mattress, a box for personal belongings and the transport of all this equipment between bivouacs. This will ensure that participants have the basic resources to face each day of the rally.

Desafío Ruta 40 will take place from May 24-29, 2026, and will be part of the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC), taking the third round of the season. Desafío Ruta 40 registration is scheduled to open on December 1, 2025, marking the start of the road to what promises to be a historic edition of the competition.
