FINAL POINT FOR THE TOUGHEST RACE IN THE WORLD

The YPF Desafío Ruta 40 2018 came to an end this Friday in the city of San Juan and once again proved that it is the most extreme race in our country. Paulo Gonçalves (Honda CRF) was the winner in Bikes, while Nicolás Cavigliasso (Yamaha Raptor) and Julio Estanguet (Can Am Renegade) took the victory in Quads 4×2 and 4×4 respectively. In Cars, the wins went to Sebastián Halpern (Toyota Hilux) in T1 Nafta, Andrea Lafarja (Toyota Hilux) in T1 Diesel, and Juan Manuel Silva (Can Am X3) in T3.

Only five days have passed on the schedule since the competition started, however in the faces of the main competitors of the YPF Desafío Ruta 40 2018 it can be seen that for none of them it was a week like all the others. Behind them were nearly 2500 kilometers of a wildly demanding race that was categorized by several experienced riders as the hardest of all editions.

The fifth and last stage joined Villa Union with San Juan through 200.48 km of special stage and another 240 km of liaison. The last selective sector of this Dakar Series was the most varied of the rally as it combined mountain roads, sand rivers with salt flats and navigation with speed. Once again, the landscapes were the main attraction of the day.
