Road To Dakar Challenge: everything to be decided in the final stage

Desafío Ruta 40 YPF is going on and after the 4th stage, Belén-Belén, Santiago Rostan and the crew of Juan Jose Semino/Gonzalo Oltra arrive as leaders, in their search for a place in Dakar 2024.

In the car category, Semino/Oltra, from Xcorpion Rally Racing finished the 345 km of selective section in 4h38m49s. After Fiambalá dunes, they had an overall time of 17h26m46. Their runner-ups are Diego Blas López – Victor Silva Moroso who suffered a time penalty yesterday and finished far behind. Consequently, in the overall they are also far behind for the last stage Belen – Salta.

As for the bikes, the fight is harder. Santiago Rostan from the Pampa Rental Rally Team, finished Stage 4 Belen – Belen, in 3h40m36s and now his overall time is 16h36m21s, being the leader of this Road To Dakar Challenge so far. The closest follower is José Marcio Yampa from Catamarca who yesterday covered the Fiambalá dunes in 4h28m26s and has an overall time of is 18h51m27s. The gap is big, but in such a demanding Desafío Ruta 40, anything can happen in the last stage.

The winners in each of the categories will be entitled to a place in Dakar 2024.
